Three choirs are joining forces to put on a spring concert at Lynn's St Nicholas Chapel on Saturday.
King's Lynn Male Voice Choir has joined forces with Phoenix Singers - the woman's choir from Swaffham - and a visiting male voice choir from Alfreton, Derby shire, for a concert on Saturday May 24.
The concert is in aid of the Facial Surgery Research Foundation, a cause close to the heart of the Phoenix Singers through member Marlene Gaunt, whose tongue was rebuilt by skin grafts after a cancerous part of it was removed. The surgeon who helped her, Mr Leo Cheng, now based at St Bart's Hospital, London, will make a short interval address to the audience about his work.
The chapel is owned by the Churches Conservation Trust and is the largest Chapel of Ease in England. It was built to ease pressure on Lynn's parish church, St Margaret's because its congregation was so large.
The concert starts at 7.30pm with a performance by each choir, starting with the Phoenix Singers. The three choirs will sing together in the second half.
Tickets, priced 5£, can be bought from members of the Lynn choir, or from West Norfolk Travel in King Street, telephone 01553 772910.
